Meeting Minutes from Dec meeting and next meeting Jan 9th, 2025

Fun times were had by all at the holiday meeting.  Memories of years past and things to look forward to in the future.  A few gifts were exchanged, some old items were taken away.  James surprised us with a Jersey boys pizza!  After last meeting, having issues with the slideshow player, I decided to look for better options.  I found that our TV was stretching the image to fit it's widescreen size.  Which no one likes their images to be distorted.  I decided to go back to FastStone slideshow player, and it seemed to be a smoother and better quality. At the end of our snacking and chatting, we did show some photos.  Below are a sample of what we saw. Next meeting is January 9th, 2025 at 6 PM Whitefish Library I showed images from Gates of the Mountains on the East side, a few shots from ebiking up GTS and an epic Alpenglow sunset. Kyle showed the club some images from a rental 800 mm lens and his trip to Yellowstone. Tony showed us some epic bird sh...

Our next meeting is the second Thursday of the month 12.12.2024 at 6 PM at the Whitefish Library.   It is our holiday meeting, if you have something to share for our gift exchange please bring it.  Either wrapped or not, it is up to you.  Typically we suggest if you have any photography gear that you are no longer using bring it, if you do not, you do not need to bring anything.  If you want to bring a snack or goodies to share that is always welcome too. Bring photos along too, please keep them to under 25 images, since we will have the gift exchange and time will be limited.

Welcome back was the topic for the September meeting.  We have never taken the summer off from our meetings, but this summer it seemed like the thing to do. We had a great collection of images from all over the world to look at, from Glacier Park to Nara, Japan to Borneo.  To name a few.  Below is a sample of the night. I showed a video from flying into the South Fork of the Flathead River in Spotted Bear.  You can see that video again HERE> Our next meeting is October 10th, 2024, the 2nd Thursday of the month, as it always has been, 6 PM at the Whitefish Library.  Marguerite showed images from when they had the Ski Joring event at Rebecca Farm.  Seems like a great location for this event. Leanne helps with studies conducted in Glacier National Park and gets to spend quality time in the park.  She showed us images from Gunsight lake to Ptarmigan Tunnel. Derek Houseworth showed us images from his travels to Nara, Japan.  I did not realize that B...

Meeting minutes and next meeting 6.13.2024 6PM at Whitefish Community Library

The May meeting was on the first sunny day after a rainy spell, we had 2 new people, and everybody was bubbly.  We had Gary, Frank, Nelson, Sidney, Mitch who was new last time, and 2 new people Omar and Louie.  Next meeting is 6.13.2024 6PM at Whitefish Community Library Dee documented the end of winter and eruption of spring close to home. Frank traveled a little farther to photograph the sculpture at the entrance to the Blackfeet Reservation and a historic inn in Ferndale -- no, not that Ferndale, but the one in California. Mitch also went to California to experience this ethereal sinuous road and a bird highlighting the bloom in Indian Wells. Sidney compared his color images with B&W renditions, including a great blue heron and Mammoth Hot Springs in winter.  Campus protests are in the news again, as they were when Sidney photographed this one about Vietnam.
